Moonlight Walk 2013

Hey guys, hope you are all well. On Saturday I participated in the Moonlight Walk 2013 in Greenock to raise money for the hospice. I've never really done any charity events before but had seen this for the past few years and decided this was the year. It was a 10k (just over 6 miles), starting at 10pm and it was ladies only with the theme being pink. Well needless to say I took the theme and ran with it. Sorry for the horrid photos.

All in all it was a great wee night. Everyone was really supportive. It took me just over 2 hours and my legs are still aching, totally worth it though. I ended up raising £115 which I'm really proud of. There was over 400 ladies taking part and I've just found out that we raised a combined total of over £45,000 which is absolutely phenomenal. I had such fun and I definitely think I'll be doing it again next year.

For those who want to know:

Hoody - Tokyo Disney Sea
Tshirt - supplied by charity
Tutu - Bodyline
Leggings - Miss Selfridge
Socks - Primark
Trainers - Tesco

Oh and incase you think my head looks very light in the 2nd photo my tiara lights up, which was also supplied by the charity.

Copycat Nails #2 - Polish Art Addiction

Hey guys, hope you are all well. Been a bit absent of late as I have had a lot going on with stressful work and even more stressful car breakdowns. Booooo! Finally some good news. Sunshine and heat have arrived, even though its only been for about 3 days I'm still loving wearing nice things. Most importantly, NO COATS! Yaaaaay!

In other news, I have 2 exciting bits of news to share. I have booked to go back to Tokyo next year! I can hardly believe it. I thought when I went last year it was totally a once in a lifetime thing and didn't think I would get the chance to go back. I was supposed to be going to Florida but I just couldn't stop thinking about Tokyo so I just went for it. I promise I'll try not to mention until after this years holidays are done with.

Second piece of news I'm getting a kitten! I can't believe this either. My darling beloved wee cat Zaza died almost 4 years ago now and to say I was devastated would be an understatement. He was 19 and I never remembered life without him. People kept asking if I would ever get another one and I said no as I couldn't go through that again, plus I didn't want him to think I was replacing him. Its got a wee bit easier through time and I've softened. I want a friend I can cuddle up to and tell all my problems. So its not born yet, due next month and hopefully with me in September. I will burst with excitement.

This was my lovely wee boy:

Anyway, I finally managed to get my hands on China Glaze For Audrey. Yeah only took me forever. I absolutely love the colour and Audrey Hepburn is one of my favourite, so perfect.

I knew exactly the mani I wanted to do ever since I first came across it and since I was armed with my new For Audrey and new brushes from Born Pretty (more about them another time) I thought I'd give it ago.

So I first came across this here where the amazing Leslie does fabulous freehand nail art, including Disney! Eeeeek! I would love to be that awesome one day.

Here is my attempt (which isn't a direct copy but more on that later):

Yuk! Awful picture but I was at work with an iPhone so sue me.

Here's what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
China Glaze For Audrey
Wet n Wild Black Creme
Barry M Nail Art Pen in White
Seche Vite
Sellotape
Brushes from Born Pretty

I am so super chuffed with this effort considering its my first real attempt at freehand nails. Yes I know its hardly proper freehand but I'm taking it. I was so bummed at having to take this off, it lasted nearly a week.

So I know its not a direct copy but this is actually my second attempt at this design and this is because I did try to copy it directly and totally screwed up the dots. Who can't do dots?! Its must be the easiest thing to do and I screwed it up. So I actually preferred doing it without.

Pink Spider - You Don't Know the Pain of Endless Flight

Hey guys, I shall have to do a wee update post soon. Not that anything has really happened to me recently but I have been a bit absent of late.

In the meantime these are the nails I done yesterday. Now May 2nd is the anniversary of the death of hide and this year was the 15th. If you aren't aware Hideto Matsumoto (known as hide) was the super awesome brilliant guitarist for the best band ever X Japan. They are a J Rock band who basically started the visual kei movement and they are just amazing! He was nicknamed Pink Spider by Yoshiki because of his crazy pink hair and he was just a super talented, cutie pie. I really wish I had known X Japan back before he died, which was far too sudden and far too soon, but then again maybe I don't because it was heartbreaking enough when I found out he had died. I still can't listen to Forever Young because all I can think of is the other guys performing it at his funeral. :(

Anyway, here are the nails:

Here's what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
Technic Vintage (pale pink)
China Glaze Purple Panic (pink spider)
Wet n Wild Black Creme
Seche Vite
plate HD01

These nails wouldn't really photograph (not to mention I have a new camera and am rubbish with it) so this is all I have I'm afraid.

Some pictures of hide because he's just so cute!

I love him!

Oh my gosh! I so wish I had been there. hide's wee face when Toshi is singing! *dies* Okay, crying again.
Best band ever! Love you hide! Please check them out if you don't already know them.
