Zoya 'Robyn' + some stars

Hi guys, my Mum surprised me with some polish during the week and it's only my first ever Zoya! I couldn't believe it. Even better it shares it's name with me, yes that's right Zoya 'Robyn'. Now this is a big deal because nothing ever has my name on it, no funky keyrings, pens or magnets, absolutely nothing! If anything ever does have my name on it, it is spelt with an i. So I was super stoked that my first Zoya was also called Robyn.

Anyway, onto the mani. Since my Mum picked the polish, I let her design the whole mani. I asked her to pick a stamping design and a colour that would work with the blue of the Zoya.

Here is what she came up with:

Here is what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
Zoya Robyn
Barry M Silver Foil
Seche Vite
BM-21

I really love this! Even more so coming from a person who has no nails, seriously my Mum has bitten them all the way down so they don't grow anymore, so I think she picked a really good design.

Now these pictures look totally different colours but it was really hard to photograph. The real colour is somewhere between the 2 of these pictures and maybe not a colour I would usually pick but I absolutely loved it as soon as it went on.

So I now have to treat myself to more Zoya's as I'm totally converted. Goes on like a dream, hardly any clean up and cruelty free! What more could you ask for?

ps - sorry about the tip wear but I didn't have a chance to take any pictures before I had been at work for 2 days.

Polka Dot Nails - Inspire by #2

Hi guys, just a quick wee post in between room tidying. I really don't feel like I am getting anywhere, I have so many bags of clothes you wouldn't believe, but I have really enjoyed not being at work even though I haven't really done anything.

Anyway, these nails are inspired by a range of items I have including a handbag, a purse and a case for my nexus.

Here are the nails:

Here is what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
No7 Stay Perfect in Sing the Blues*
Konad White(?)
China Glaze Purple Panic (Neon)
OPI Divine Swine*
Color Club Wing Fling
Seche Vite
plate QA-12

Now this isn't what I imagined. I initially done the blue with white dots and the pink as tips but it looked so hideous that I removed it instantly and done this instead.

Anyway, back to it. It's so tiring but at least I can now see my carpet. ha ha.

Snowflake Nails - Inspired by #1

Oh I do hate this time just after Christmas. It just feels really bizarre, all this build up and it's over so quickly. Everything seems so bare without decorations. Also this time year is the time for diets for quite a lot of people. I don't really do new year's resolutions but I would quite like to take better care of myself including losing a bit of weight and exercising more, so I've decided to do Weight Watchers again. Hopefully I will be able to lose enough weight before my holiday in August and keep it off. I've already started exercising and my legs are absolute agony (as if I don't get enough exercise at work anyway) it took me 40 minutes to get back up off the couch and up the stairs. ha ha.

Anyway, on to the nails! I decided to do nails inspired by a pair of pyjama bottoms that I got for Christmas.

I know that people would maybe think that snowflake nails should be for Christmas but here in Scotland we can get snow any time up to and including March, even after so I've heard.

Here is what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
Barry M Matte White
George by Asda in Jackpot* (glitter)
Nails Inc Piccadilly Arcade
Boots BlueGrey* (this is unnamed, came from a Christmas set)
Seche Vite
BM-323

I like these but my friend thinks they're like doing a rain dance only for snow. ha ha. I also think this is the longest my nails have ever been, everybody keeps thinking they're false, so I think I shall have to be trimming them as I have already broken one.

So I stop tomorrow for 5 days! Hurrah! It really is needed after the practically non existent holidays over the festive period. I shall be spending the time sorting out my room as it's an absolute tip and I'm properly moving things about and everything, so if you don't hear from me I usually be buried under a pile of clothes like on those Hoarders programs off the telly. lol

Copycat Nails #1 - Rebecca Likes Nails / Nailed It

So I got up at 5.20am this morning, my day off!! The whole day has been spent in a total rut regarding my nails. I think I must have looked at every single nail art picture on Pinterest and Google and nothing was coming. I've had polish on and off all day and was at the end of my tether. Does this happen to anyone else? How do you get over your nail funk?

I eventually came across this at Rebecca Likes Nails which initially came from here at Nailed It and here is my version:

Now this totally didn't want to photograph, hence the crappy picture. Any tips on how to take pictures without getting shadow in the way?

Here is what I used:

No7 So Smooth Base Coat*
Scarlett and Crimson in Bat (pink)(?)
Scarlett and Crimson in Butterfly (purple)(?)
W7 Black(?)
Seche Vite
BM-11
Tape

The Scarlett and Crimson polishes I got in a set for Christmas but they don't have any names, so instead I'm naming them after the charms that are on the lids.

Also, this is my very first tape mani! Now I know it's nothing exciting and it's about the most basic tape mani you can get but I'm just really glad it worked! Years ago I tried using tape when doing my nails but the tape would just rip the polish right off.

Anyway I think this may become a regular copycat series when I get totally uninspired, I shall try a mani I have seen elsewhere to see how it turns out.
